FINTASTIC MANAGEMENT SERVICES
As from September 2001 I started working for my limited company Fintastic Management Services BV as an interim manager F&A.
MERCURIUS
At Mercurius, Wormerveer I replaced the Finance Manager for future changes into the organisation, which took place in the first quarter of 2002. Due to changes in shareholders the group controller started as a CFO in this company and needed an accountant instead of a Finance Manager. For this printing company ( www.mercurius.nl )I created the budget for 2002 and completed the year end closing.
IMPRIMA DE BUSSY
I stopped my activities in the first quarter 2002 at Media Groep West, so I started in April 2002 as a Finance Manager at Imprima de Bussy, Amsterdam ( www.imprimadebussy.nl ). Due to illness I had to start from the year end closing with an Exact/Dos version and two spreadsheets (year end 2001 and budget 2002). The project administration had to be closed from 1996 till 2001 and had to be reconciled with the general ledger. The sales budget had to be divided in multiple periods by multiple sales groups and customer wise categorized. Reporting changed from quarterly periods into monthly periods with roling forecasts. The new hired controller started with an annual report over 2002 and a budget 2003 in February 2003.
YANMAR
As from April 2003 till November 2003 I had an assignment by Deloitte & Touche at Yanmar Europe BV ( www.yanmar.nl ), a Japanase Diesel engine manufacturer, located in Almere. In this position I replaced the Finance Manager, who left in February 2003. First thing was to start reporting into a new format towards the Board of Directors on a monthly basis. For this purpose I had to restyle budgetdata and to ascertain which budgetdata (more versions available) to come to the final approved version by the shareholders.
At the same time they started a new limited company Yanmar Marine International ( www.yanmarmarine.nl )as from January 2003 to combine all global sales in sailboat and powerboat engines. To create a copy of the subsystems of sales, production, procurement and logistics and to link data retrieval into an Exact client/server accounting system caused many efforts. By understanding the Japanese ERP system from an AS400 (only Japanese documentation) I created an overview between all relations, databases, imported spreadsheets and interfaces for downloading into the financial system. Based on this knowledge I changed the way of thinking from products into customers. From warehouse flows I adjusted the financial statements for VAT over 2001, 2002 and 2003 concerning export and import (dropshipments, C-BAC, FEMAC & AVT in The Netherlands and in Italy).
Next to the above mentioned a take over took place from the BENELUX distributor in February and resulted in a new company Yanmar Benelux BV ( www.yanmarbenelux.nl )and had to be integrated from a financial system into Exact. Starting with sales and a starting position with stock the integration from purchases, stock movements etc resulted in a balance sheet and profit & loss statement over more periods to be used for reporting purposes.
FIS FINANCE
After having a small break I started in February 2004 at FIS Finance ( www.fisfinance.nl ). The month February I created 28 annual reports for collective sharing apartments at ABIN Vink in Noordwijk ( www.abinvink.nl ). The next month March I started at Eneco in Haarlem ( www.eneco.nl ) to justify Dutch subisidies over the years 1997 till 2001.
GREIF
Greif Netherlands BV is formerly known as Van Leer Vaten B.V. At Tri-sure ( www.tri-sure.com ) I was hired as a financial advisor between the business controller and the IT manager to develop a new pocket margin database for their European activities worldwide. First thing was to recalculate prices and products towards p&l statement. By this operation I learnt all calculation assumptions and all cost components and operations in their various products. On this information I created a spreadsheet with all product groups and products with a break down of all calculation formulas from raw materials, production costs and overhead costs. As a final result I added a worksheet to check all data by variances towards the profit & loss statement.
Together with the IT manager I changed these data from product costs into machine hours by operation. By multiplying these costs with these machine hours a production flow by operation by product has been created. All these data are imported from excell by datatransfer into their ERP system.
Finally after these activities I adjusted calculation assumptions into new calculation assumptions and created an input schedule to adjust all data by just one entry. June 2004 I finished this project.
